Worker Geolocation Information Notice
This page explains how MPG Site Management supports GPS geofencing and location-based functions for attendance, site access, operational coordination and workplace safety.
Scope of this notice
MPG Site Management includes functions that may use the worker device location during operational use of the platform, mainly to validate attendance inside the assigned site perimeter, support the coordination of field teams and improve safety management on large or complex sites.
Controller and processor roles
Data controller: the customer company that uses MPG Site Management to manage its workers, sites, attendance, reports and operational activities.
Data processor / technical provider: MPG, when it processes personal data on behalf of the customer company to provide the software service, assistance, maintenance and hosting-related technical support.
Infrastructure provider: the hosting provider selected for the customer environment, according to the technical plan and infrastructure configuration agreed with the customer.
Purposes of geolocation
Location data may be processed for organizational, operational and safety purposes connected with construction site management, including:
- checking whether a clock-in or clock-out occurs within the assigned site perimeter;
- supporting attendance validation and preventing incorrect site selection;
- coordinating teams and workers during working time;
- supporting emergency, safety or operational needs on large sites;
- associating reports, cable activities, drum usage and field operations with the correct site.
When location may be used
- Clock-in: the app may use GPS to verify that the worker is within the assigned geofence.
- During working time: authorized users may request the current position only where enabled by the customer configuration.
- Clock-out: the system can stop the operational availability of worker location after the worker has left the site.
- Outside working time: MPG Site Management is not intended to monitor private movements.
Who can request worker location
Only users authorized by the customer company may access location-related functions. Depending on the customer configuration, this may include administrators, project managers, supervisors or site managers responsible for the relevant site.
It is recommended that each location request is logged with at least: requesting user, worker concerned, date and time, site, and operational reason where required by the customer policy.
What MPG Site Management does not do
- it is not designed for continuous surveillance outside working time;
- it is not intended to monitor private movements or private life;
- it should not be used for hidden, excessive or disproportionate monitoring;
- it does not replace the customer company's employment-law, privacy or internal consultation obligations;
- it does not remove the need for clear internal rules on who can access location data and why.

Retention periods are defined by the customer company according to its purposes, legal obligations, employment rules, internal policies and the technical configuration of the service.
MPG Site Management should be configured so that location-related information is limited to what is necessary for the declared purposes and retained only for the necessary period.
Worker rights
Workers may contact their employer, acting as data controller, to exercise their privacy rights, including access, rectification, restriction, objection, erasure where applicable, and request for information on the processing of their personal data.
The customer company's own privacy notice should indicate the relevant privacy contact, any Data Protection Officer where appointed, and the process for exercising rights.
